Professor-researcher at the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, UFRJ (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil), coordinator of the Research Group on Contemporary French Philosophy (NuFFC-CNPq) and of the Laboratory of Philosophical Education Gerd Bornheim (LEFGB). Graduated in philosophy in 1993. His doctoral thesis was entitled “Philosophical and critical formation. Adorno and the teaching of philosophy”. He did two post-doctoral studies at the University of Paris 8, in 2009 and 2018. In 2019, he published the book “Ensaios de Filosofia nos Trópicos. Questões de ensino de aprendizado” (“Philosophical essays in the tropics. Teaching and learning issues”) by Editora Unicamp. His research interests include education and philosophy, the teaching of philosophy, and in particular the concepts of emancipation and anthropophagy in the interface between philosophy and anthropology.
